We stayed in Utah long enough to permit another fishing trip with Michael Griffin (with the fish in the picture) and Michael Rowbury (husband of Marolynn's neice Laura) who has the boat and the fishing know-how. We pulled fish out of the lake as fast as we could between launch and sunrise, and relaxed a bit with a few fish now and then until docking at lunchtime. The total count between us was 44 fish, most of which were catch and release (15-22 inches). I liked it so well that I'm going back this month for another round.

We drove from Newport back to Salt Lake before returning home a week later, and stopped in St George where Marolynn's aunt Eunice and uncle Arlo live now. Eunice is Carma Mineer's sister. In the old days when we lived in Richland, Washington, they lived just outside of Boise, a convenient stop right at the half-way point between Richland and Salt Lake. They were just as convenient this time around too.

We did a mini-vacation at the Marriott Villas at Newport Beach, actually between Newport and Laguna Beach, in mid-July. The weather was just like you see it in the lower picture of Paul on the Newport pier, with marine clouds poking their way a couple of miles inland almost all the time. Part of the deal was to listen to a timeshare sales pitch, and we're still considering getting one, but cheaper on the secondary market. All in all the place was quite impressive. The suites were in a identical layout to the Marbella suites we stayed at when we went to Spain for a current generation reunion a couple of years ago.

Allen and Lois Suski visited today, and despite 2/3" of rain from a monsoon shower, we ate bar-b-que out on the patio when the storm departed, just like old days when they lived close by. Allen and Lois have resided in Idaho Falls for the past three years
