Just the three of us, but the quantity and quality of a full-blown Thanksgiving dinner was not lost, thanks mostly to Marolynn who can cook with the best of them. More than plenty here -- about triple the ususal fare for dinner. With winter cold laying siege outside - it hardly got out of the 30s today, we had our first fireplace blaze of the season, and Jon and I sat to watch three plus hours of the first LOTR film after dinner. (We're into the final book of the trilogy on CDs, hearing it to and from work.)

Fall just keeps dragging on with endless clear skies and temperatures 35 to 70 every day. The red tree got more colorful this last week and so we had to get another quick photo just before I ran off to Bishop's meeting on Sunday. It would be kind of nice to see some water fall from the sky though.

After a long holdout, the maple tree in the back yard decided to turn red, and this all happened in the space of just a couple of days. It's not completely red, but with work schedules the way they are, we may not have another chance for a morning picture. The leaves fall off of the tree in the same space of time they take to turn red.

What a difference two weeks going into Fall makes with the trees around the church.
Although the weather has continued quite warm for the season, the foliage season is almost at an end. The green-tree photo was taken two weeks ago; the yellow tree photo was taken today.
