Movie-making in Santa Fe
When I came into work this morning the movie trucks were again parked across the street and filming was scheduled at noon for a movie called "The Keeper". A notice was taped to our building font door from the City of Santa Fe explaining things and begging our pardon for the inconvenience. The galery across the street, about a block down from the art museum pictured here has been the subject of several visits by film companies. Santa Fe and the state are trying to woo the Hollywood film companies to New Mexico, with some success.

Meanwhile, Fall is making inroads now to the plaza. You can also tell that it is Fall because most of the tourists are gone

I submitted one of the photos I posted here last week to the Albuquerque Weather Service which features photos on its site and it made 'Photo of the Week'. Yaaay.

Fall in the Sangres
With Conference weekend came the first Pacific storm of the season. Meanwhile, during the preceeding week, the aspen in the Sangre de Cristo mountains above Santa Fe made a sudden turn to the yellow colors of Fall. On Saturday night the storm arrived and gave us an inch and a half of rain; more than any single monsoon storm during the summer. We were thankfull for that as we'd had very little rain through most of September. In the higher mountains the precipitation came as snow, and as today was the first really clear day after the storm, I picked up Jonathan after work and we headed up the hill, camers in hand, to get pictures of the fall leaves before they froze and disappeared. We weren't disappointed.

The snow never disappeared from the higher mountains, and there was a little bit where we stopped to take pictures. We didn't get up into the hills until 5:30pm and only had an hour to take pictures before the sun started to set.

We had to get this picture to prove that Jon came along. With a digital camera of his own, he enjoys taking pictures and the trip was a success for him.
One last shot of the hillside as we descended the mountain before evening caught up with us.
