April is always famous for its late snowstorms in New Mexico. In fact, I have a Scout "Snowball Award" plaque for accompanying the scouts in three successive years to Camporees in which we awoke to snow in late April and May. I was quietly requested not to go with them the fourth year, but we went to Fenton Lake up in the Jemez in mid-May and of course found an inch of snow on the ground in the morning.
The Radio spoke of 2-hour delays in Taos and Mora as I was getting ready for work, but I got in just fine with little snow. Then it started in earnest later in the morning and had reached 6 inches when I left for home. Just rain in Albuquerque, with snow not far up the mountainside.
