Mutual Dell
At Church they know I'm retired so they asked me to spend a day at girls camp to help out. LDS girls camp is held around these parts at a large facility named Mutual Dell (The Mutual Improvement Association is an old name for the youth organizations), up American Fork canyon, owned since before the forest bacame national forest, as it is right in the middle of the national forest. Our local ward (congregation) is holding its own girls camp, 22 girls in a facility spread with campgrounds that hold 150 or more from many wards.

I didn't have a lot to do but I learned a few things; (a) the names and faces of more members of the ward, (b) that I could read 300 pages of Harry Potter on this trip, (c) that it can and does rain in the canyon in the summertime if there is a monsoon in from New Mexico, (d) that I need more padding if I am to be comfortable sleeping in back of the truck.

The campground is at the foot of the climb up the Alpine loop, so I drove up to the top for a picture or two, once my assignment was over
